Lean Into Love

Lean Into Love - Paul Gulyas
She nods to the world, and it spins a bit faster And tilting its axis, it leans in towards love.
And the machines of the city will close up their mouths, and out come their ears and they lean in towards love.
The cowards and cynics stuffed up in their castles look down at the chaos and hear the bells buzz
And frightened but ready, they fall from the clouds, finally invited to lean in towards love.
And the writers will get out their dried up old pens, and the painters will splash out the colors again.
And the people will dance on the doors of the club, all for a chance to come and lean in to love.
And the men will forget their tyrannical lust and we will throw down our weapons and come and lean in to love.
There's no need to force it she loosens her corset and shows you it's easy to lean into love.
And under the blanket of glittering stars, the fear and the hate are all swept away far.
It's a force that seems foreign to all but a few, who are one with the steadfast, eternal, and true.
How anxious we are that they may teach us to forget what we've learned and come lean into love
And the writers will get out their dried up old pens, and the painters will splash out the colors again.
And the people will dance on the doors of the club, all for a chance to come and lean in towards love.

Single Man

Single Man - Donnie Biggins
Why did I try to convince myself that you'd easily come back to me?
I lived a lie that's within myself and it's only true in my dreams.
And you know that I will be there if I can
And you know that I will never stay a single man.
Why did you try to run away from the feelings you told me were true?
You lived a lie that's outside yourself and my dreams were shattered, too.
And I know that you will hide behind your hands
And I know that you will never love a single man.
It's time that you find that key that keeps your deepest thoughts inside.
And it's time that I move my mind on from the people who waste my time.
Cause I know that you will hide behind your hands.
And you know that I will never stay a single man.
Cause I know that you will hide behind your hands.
And you know that I will never stay a single man.

We've Never Met - Donnie Biggins
Oh I am searching high and low across the street, across the skyline
I am looking, I don't know, above the tree, below the sunrise
And I haven't found her yet. I keep placing a wrongful bets.
And I painfully regret we never met
Oh and I painfully regret we never met.
I am running out of fear, up the road to an El track
There's a ringing in my ear saying, "hey I'll be right back."
Cause I haven't found her yet. I keep placing a wrongful bets.
And I painfully regret we never met
And I painfully regret we never met.
Will I find her? I can't say. Even if I move away
Will I still be okay? Oh yes I'm searching every minute of my day.
Oh I am searching high and low across the street, across the skyline
I am looking, I don't know, above the tree, below the sunrise
And I haven't found her yet. I keep placing a wrongful bets.
And I painfully regret we never met
Oh and I painfully regret we never met.

Gently

Gently - Paul Gulyas
If I give you my heart, please keep it gently
Cause the world is so hard on a poor boy like me.
Because so many girls in this cruel, crazy world
Are just taking revenge on someone who left them
And if you could love me, then I know you would see
How beautiful this world could be
By the light of the stars, I cannot quite see
Whether you truly are in love with me.
Tell me, girl, tell me.
So if I give you my heart, please keep it gently
Cause the world is so hard on a poor fool like me.

In the Sun - Paul Gulyas
I'm a guy who don't need much to be satisfied just pour me a cup and i'll be all right,
But you know your love's been pushing my desire
I believe that you should not want those things you don't need
But here I am again and I'm down on my knees
And only your kiss can bring me some relief
Cause I know you seen it baby
It's in the sun
Light shining through our doors and our windows
come on and open up, you need to open up
People say, that love don't exist in these crazy days
But you know I think they all must be insane, they're looking at life
through their dirty little window panes
We could be so happy if you'd just see like I see
that love is a weapon and we'll fight to be free
From all who defend that hateful tyranny
Cause I know you seen it, baby
It's in the sun light shining through our doors and our windows,
Come on and open up. You need to open up

Train on Time - Brian Patterson
Well, you know that I'm leavin come the break of day
Yeah, you know that I'm leavin come the break of day
Won't you get me to the train on time so I can earn my pay
Well, you know I got a woman waitin' at home
Yeah, you know I got a woman and she's waitin at home
Won't you get me to the train on time, she's all alone.
So come on, get me to the train on time.
Come on, get me to the train on time.
Yeah, yeah yeah well you either catchin' that early train
Or getting left behind. Lemme tell y'all a little story.
Well, I ain't seen home in over 40 days, I been workin like a fool
I took a job downtown because it pays, now I got to come home to you.
But that early morning train, you know it leaves so soon.
So come on, get me to the train on time
A come on, get me to the train on time.
You either catchin' that early train or gettin left behind. Here comes that train
You know people like to tell me not to hurry up, they say I gotta take my time.
And those people never had to earn an honest buck, while I'm sweatin for my dime, yeah.
Don't ya mess around with my money when I'm on the grind.
So come on, get me to the show on time.
Come on, get me to the show on time.
Yeah, yeah yeah well, don't you mess around with my money when I'm on the grind.

City Swept Away

City Swept Away - Paul Gulyas
There's a river that swerves through a city swept away
All the beggars and the bartenders, too beautiful to stay
And I long to return to that place from yesterday
To a memory so pretty of a city swept away
A broken hearted blues man will be traveling the land
With a guitar on his back, and a suitcase in his hand.
And If you see him, ask him to sit awhile and play
A song they used to ask for in the city swept away.
Where all the crazy people come to meet
And carry their drinks from street to street.
I'm looking for the spirit who opened up to me
Right before she drowned herself in love and drifted out to sea.
And the lost souls and the fortune tellers hang around the square
And they tell each other stories, and the tourists stop and stare.
Can you spare a nickel, do you have a dime?
No, but if you could just sit and talk to me that would be all right.
And all the crazy people that you meet
Carry your drink from street to street
I'm looking for the spirit who opened up to me
Right before she drowned herself in love and drifted out to sea.

Blue Canal - Paul Gulyas
The morning found, the morning found, the morning found, me down on the blue canal
With a fistful of hope and a stomach full of doubt
And happy though she was, I could see my baby's love.
It was fading into dusk. It was fading, yes it was.
And the morning found, the morning found, the morning found, me down on the blue canal
With a fistful of hope and a stomach full of doubt
And happy though she seemed, I could see my baby's dreams
They were cool, and calm, and clean
And none of them for me.
And none of them for me.
And the morning found, the morning found, the morning found, me down on the blue canal
With a fistful of hope and a stomach full of doubt

Pour Me a Drink - Brian Patterson
Hey, I ain't got no money and I ain't got no work
And my woman she left me with my face in the dirt.
But I'll be all right. Yeah, I'll be okay
Just pour me a drink at the end of the day, yeah
Well, I left Alabama without a dime
I came back to Chicago, started wastin my time
Hey I found a new woman, and all she had to say
Is, "let's have a drink at the end of the day!"
They say you can't smoke, they say you can't drink.
They tell you what to wear, they tell you how to think
But you know that they're wrong, child
Listen when I say, you gotta do what you love at the end of the day.
I said,
Pour me a drink
Pour me a drink
Pour me a drink
Pour me a drink, yeah yeah yeah yeah.
